Maintenance / Irrigation Repair

Our knowledgeable team can troubleshoot and repair your irrigation system. When you call to have a specific repair performed on your irrigation system, unless otherwise instructed, we will make only the repair requested. If we see other needs with your system, we will point them out to you or write them on a door hanger to leave at your property. If you desire to have any other issues repaired, simply let the service tech know while he is there, or call us to schedule.

After the Repairs

One of the biggest issues irrigation systems encounter is caused by debris, which can enter sprinkler lines through a leak, when changing out a sprinkler head, or through the water. Sometimes after repairing a leak, another leak may show up, possibly in another part of your property. Once the initial repair is made, our service tech will make sure it is no longer leaking and then be on his way.

It can take an hour to several hours for any subsequent or additional leaks to show up. We know that you don’t want to pay for our irrigation managers to wait around and see if any additional leaks become evident later. Unfortunately if one does, simply contact us and we will schedule another service call.

Activation

When activating your irrigation system, your Garden Vistas Professional will:

  • Turn on the water, manually cycle through all the system zones, and check / adjust heads to ensure they are operating properly
  • Set up a custom watering schedule for your property based on site conditions
  • Discuss any repairs, and associated costs, that will require additional time. A follow-up visit may need to be scheduled to complete the work.

Poor Head Spacing/Coverage

A properly designed system can save 10-30% compared to improperly designed systems. Poor coverage due to improper head spacing results in over-watering areas to compensate for areas that tend to stay dry, wasting large amounts of water.

Summer Inspection & Adjustment

For your annual summer inspection, your Garden Vistas Professional will visit your property to:

Manually cycle through all the system zones, and check / adjust heads to ensure they are operating properly
Look for wet & dry areas in the turf & beds
Create a new watering schedule for the system based on weather/season conditions
Discuss any repairs, and associated costs, that will require additional time. A follow-up visit will need to be scheduled to complete the work.

Winterization

The winterization process starts by turning off the control clock, then shutting off the control valve at the meter and anti-backflow.
